Average real estate values in the Pittsburgh region have appreciated from $154,748 two years ago to $170,351 in June, according to data released today by RealSTATs, a local real estate information service.
The median home price rose $125,500 to $134,250 during the same time frame.
RealSTATs vice president Dan Murrer said he believes the increased values are largely due to more sales in the higher-end market rather than rising home prices overall.
Butler County led the region with an average home price of $231,831 followed by Washington County at $186,231, Allegheny County at $171,491, Westmoreland County at $139,944 and Beaver at $111,064.
