Frontier Airlines, which dropped Pittsburgh-to-Milwaukee service last month, will resume two daily flights beginning in May, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald announced this morning.

Frontier dropped the only direct service to Milwaukee in January. Service will resume May 17 with flights leaving Pittsburgh at 7:29 a.m. and 1:19 p.m. for General Mitchell International Airport and leaving Milwaukee for return flights at 10:25 a.m. and 6:50 p.m.

In a news release, Mr.Fitzgerald said increasing direct flights from Pittsburgh International Airport is "a priority" of his administration. He took office in January.

"This is an important destination for business and we are thrilled with Frontier Airlines' decision," he said.

Daniel Shurz, Frontier's senior vice president, commercial, said the airline was "pleased" to resume Milwaukee service.

"Customers will enjoy Frontier's low fares in Milwaukee and on connections to destinations across the United States and Mexico," he said.

Flights can be booked today at Frontier's website: http://www.frontierairlines.com/.
