Several Westmoreland County fire companies worked late into the frigid night Saturday, battling a blaze that heavily damaged an Arona building that once had housed a church congregation.
About a dozen fire companies responded to the former Church of the Nazarene, where the fire broke out around 11 p.m. The building, located in the 2000 block of Main Street, was being used for storage.
Additional trucks were called to the scene shortly before midnight because of the frigid temperatures, county dispatch said.
No injuries were reported.
