Hermitage-based First National Bank of Pennsylvania this morning announced plans to expand its Pittsburgh regional headquarters on the North Shore in July 2011, adding new office space and an unspecified number of additional employees.

The bank, which has 70 branches in the Pittsburgh region, including 23 in Allegheny County, signed a lease for 35,000 square feet of office space at its One North Shore Center headquarters, giving it roughly 55,000 square feet on the North Shore, the bank's parent company, FNB Corp., said in a statement.

The expansion will accommodate the relocation of the company's First National Insurance Agency headquarters and allow for "additional staffing increases over the next few years," the company said.

The expansion underscores FNB's commitment to Pittsburgh, First National Bank President Vincent Delie Jr. said.

Kim Craig, president and CEO of FNB Wealth Management, also will be relocating to the North Shore.
