Family of falcons living at the Cathedral of Learning

Four of five eggs at the Cathedral of Learning peregrine falcon nest in Oakland have hatched over the last two days and falcon parents Dorothy and E2 have begun feeding the chicks at the nest.
The first falcon chick hatched at 11:20 pm Wednesday evening, two more hatched just after 11 a.m. Thursday, and the last broke out at about 3 p.m., according to the National Aviary.
The public can follow the activity at the nest on a 40th floor ledge of the Cathedral on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Oakland on the Pittsburgh FalconCam at www.aviary.org/falcon or on a big screen television at the National Aviary. The Pittsbugh FalconCam provides real-time streaming video and sound. Interested viewers can also skip to the "hotspots" section of the page to see archived footage of the hatching events.
Dr. Todd Katzner, director of Conservation and Field Research at the National Aviary, said the chicks will receive a veterinary examination in about four weeks, and band them for identification.
