DAYTON, Ohio -- Duquesne picked up a critical road win Wednesday night, hanging on to defeat Dayton 83-73 at University of Dayton Arena.

The Dukes yielded a nine-point halftime lead but returned from deficit in the second half and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the game's final minute to seal the win.

The Dukes got 20 points from B.J. Monteiro, had just 11 turnovers, nine steals, and move to 13-9, and pull even at 4-4 in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton drops to 14-8, 4-4.

The Dukes got 15 first half points from Mike Talley, and shot collective 10-of-16 from 3-point range to open the 49-40 lead at the half.

The Flyers, playing in front of a nearly packed house, mounted a second half comeback tying it on a 9-3 run to make it 55 even with 11:05 to play.

The Flyers got 17 points off 6-foot-9 center Matt Kavanaugh, an inside force the Dukes really had no answer for, and 22 from point guard Kevin Dillard.
