County sheriff's deputies this morning arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a birthday party that left one teen dead and seven others wounded.
Quentin Ingram, 25, of McKeesport, faces charges of homicide and seven counts each of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment stemming from a shooting in Duquesne Dec. 17 that killed 18-year-old Drew Bracey.
Sgt. Douglas Clark of the sheriff's fugitive squad said deputies tracked Mr. Ingram to an apartment in the 900 block of Center Street in Versailles. When he refused to come to the door, deputies knocked it down about 8:30 a.m. He immediately dropped to the ground and surrendered.
Police said a man opened fire in the basement of a house on South Fifth Street where about 50 people had gathered for a teenage girl's birthday party. A criminal complaint filed against Mr. Ingram says witnesses identified him as the gunman from a photo lineup, but does not offer insight into what prompted him to shoot. Witnesses told police he fired a pistol before fleeing in a vehicle.
