Drivers should expect delays on Second Avenue near the 10th Street Bridge in the Bluff while crews work to repair a water main leak Thursday, the Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority head said today.

Tom Palmosina, the authority's acting executive director, said an old, 16-inch water valve began leaking this afternoon, sending gallons of water shooting into the air and cascading toward the 10th Street Bridge as traffic moved through the area.

Exact times for the repair had not been set this afternoon, but Mr. Palmosina said he expected crews to work between the morning and evening rush hours. During that time, drivers should look for a police officer, who will direct traffic, he said.
