Even though the Penguins have long been out of playoff contention, rookie center Sidney Crosby won't be done playing after the team's regular-season finale Tuesday.

Crosby has accepted an invitation to play for Canada in the World Championships May 5-21 in Riga, Latvia.

"It's hopefully going to make me a better player to go through that experience, and it's extending my season a little bit more, so I'm more than happy to go there," Crosby said today after the Penguins' morning skate in preparation for their game tonight against the New York Rangers.

Crosby, 18, was the first overall selection in the 2005 draft. He leads the Penguins in scoring with 37 goals, 93 points.
