Penguins center Sidney Crosby, who is nursing a knee injury that forced him to sit out the NHL All-Star Game yesterday, joined his teammates for practice at Mellon Arena this afternoon.
Crosby's status for the Penguins' game against the New York Rangers here Wednesday night is not known, and likely will be determined by how his knee comes through workouts today and Tuesday.
Two other Penguins forwards who have been injured, Max Talbot and Pascal Dupuis, took part in the practice, but defensemen Rob Scuderi and Brooks Orpik did not. Scuderi is ill, and Orpik was injured before the all-star break.
Forwards Paul Bissonnette and Bill Thomas, who were assigned to the Penguins' farm team in Wilkes-Barre when the all-star break began last week, have returned and took part in today's practice.
