A convicted drug dealer who skipped her sentencing was in the Allegheny County Jail tonight after sheriff's deputies said they found crack cocaine rocks and more than 500 bags of suspected heroin in her North Side apartment.

Sgt. Douglas Clark, of the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, said in a statement that deputies spotted 42-year-old Terri Addison hiding in the closet of an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Vinceton Street.

Ms. Addison pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to deliver after officers found her with several drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin, in August 2010. When she didn't appear in court for sentencing last month, a judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest.

When deputies tried to arrest her at her apartment at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, no one was home. "There was marijuana smoke still present in the air within the apartment and the odor of burning marijuana was strong," a deputy wrote in a criminal complaint.

Deducing that the smell was still fresh, deputies began knocking on doors throughout the apartment building in search of Ms. Addison. Everyone allowed them to to search their apartments, except for the occupants in Apartment 4, Sgt. Clark said.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the apartment and found Ms. Addison hiding in a closet, he said. The occupants of Apartment 4, 19-year-old Kevin Cunningham and 19-year-old Kelyn Guy, were arrested for hindering the apprehension of a criminal and obstruction of justice.

A further search of Ms. Addison's apartment revealed multiple baggies of suspected crack cocaine rocks and more than 500 stamp bags of suspected heroin, as well as $1,000 hidden in a sock, deputies said.
