Coast Guard officials are set to close parts of Pittsburgh's rivers to boat docking Sunday and Monday as part of the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta.
Boaters are ordered not to moor vessels from a wide stretch of the Ohio and Allegheny rivers, ranging from Heinz Field to the Roberto Clemente Bridge, by 10 a.m. Sunday. The safety zone will be reopened around 8:30 p.m.
The rivers will be opened periodically Sunday so vessels can pass through.
On Monday, a portion of the Allegheny near PNC park will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Part of the river's span will still be accessible to pass through.
Starting before 2 p.m. Monday, the entire Allegheny will be closed from the Point to the Sixth Street Bridge, with occasional openings until restrictions are lifted at 8:30 p.m.
The final safety closure, from the Rivers Casino to the Point, will take place from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday.
Coast Guard officials ask boaters to minimize wake near marinas during the regatta.
