A 26-year-old Penn Hills bar bouncer has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison for shooting a patron dead and wounding three of his friends in 2005.

Darnell Tolliver of Highland Park was convicted in October of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault in the Dec. 9, 2005, incident at the A-4 Lounge.

Mr. Tolliver testified at his trial that he fatally shot 24-year-old Jerry McCrommon III after the victim and other rowdy patrons jumped him and the tavern owner. Mr. Tolliver has said the men tried to grab the licensed pistol he carried.
