Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to be in Pittsburgh Monday for the Labor Day Parade.

Jack Shea, president of the Allegheny County Labor Council, announced the planned visit today. Exact details of the vice president's itinerary were not immediately available, and the White House had no immediate comment on his schedule.

Mr. Biden, then a candidate for his office, was in Pittsburgh for last year's Labor Day as well, but he decided at the last minute not to march in deference to the threat of Hurricane Gustav, the storm that was menacing the Gulf coast. Gustav also forced the cancellation of the first day of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.
