Arrest made in Hill District shooting death

Pittsburgh police arrested a man and charged him in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man last night in the city's Hill District.

Police responded about 6:30 p.m. to a call about a shooting inside a row house in the 600 block of Wandless Street. A man was found shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and age have not been released.

A short time later, Lonnie Green, 19, of the Hill District, arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm and leg. Police said Mr. Green and an unidentified male suspect had been at Wandless Street to complete a drug transaction. Mr. Green shot the victim and fled from the residence.

Mr. Green was arrested at the hospital and has been charged with criminal homicide and firearms not to be carried without a license.
