Armstrong County man found dead in Allegheny River

Officials in Kittanning are investigating the death of a 68-year-old man found dead Thursday in the Allegheny River.
Family members found William Elgin in the river near Lock No. 7 about two hours after he went missing from his home on North Water Street. The Armstrong County coroner pronounced him dead near the river at 12:50 p.m.
The cause and manner of his death had not been determined Thursday evening.
