MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Two West Virginia University football players have been suspended indefinitely by Coach Bill Stewart tonight, including the holder on extra-point and field-goal attempts.
Holder Jeremy Kash, 21, and reserve tight end Maxwell Anderson, 21, received the team penalty after published reports that they are scheduled to be arraigned on a misdemeanor battery charge on Dec. 3 in Morgantown Municipal Court.
Neither had an attorney when arrested, according to the court.
Morgantown Police Sgt. Harold Sperringer said the incident took place on Oct. 25 at Bent Willey's. There was a fight inside the bar, and people filed a complaint with police saying they had been attacked by the players.
They represent the fifth and sixth players suspended by Stewart since February.
