Coal Country Tours, based in Toms Brook, Va., has started a Hatfield & McCoy Tour from Pittsburgh that will run from Oct. 12-14. It will depart from Pittsburgh and pick up additional guests in Morgantown, W.Va., for the trip to Pike County, Ky., to review the history of this famous family feud that recently was presented in a History cable miniseries.

The tour will be three-days, two nights, leaving Pittsburgh about 7 a.m. Oct. 12 and returning about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14.

Cost will be $489 per person, double occupancy, and includes everything but dinners. Transportation, lodging, all admissions, guides, breakfasts and lunches are included. Transportation -- size of the motorcoach -- will depend on the group size.

In addition to visits to historic spots throughout Pike County where the feud unfolded and interviews with descendants, the tour also includes stops at museums and a visit with guide Bill Richardson, an award-winning filmmaker and historian who was featured in the History network's companion documentary to its miniseries.

A detailed itinerary can be found at coalcountrytours.com or by calling 1-540-233-0543 or emailing coalcountrytours@gmail.com. Coal Country Tours was founded by Doug Estepp, whose family includes three generations of coal miners.
