More than just a few good men were honored during the Women and Girls Foundation's first ever Celebrating Men event. The reception at the August Wilson Center had nearly 350 guests catching up as they sampled the buffet before going into the auditorium for the presentation of awards. The 14 men were singled out for their efforts to level the playing field and support women. They were Dr. Freddie Fu, Judge Gene Strassburger, Andrew Hoover, George Kantor, Lou Rood, Jim Abraham, Gregg Dietz, Tanner Fitzgerald, state Rep. Dan Frankel, Michael Glass and George Greer with a special Award of Distinction going to Dr. Gary Cuccia. Honorees William Gay and Max King were unable to attend. Event chairs were Tom and Bonnie VanKirk and Gregg and Yu-Ling Behr.
