Revelers at the ToonSeum's annual fundraiser were treated to a surprise July 21. The theme was Gotham Nights, celebrating the filming of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Pittsburgh and featuring Christian Bale's cowl and other artifacts from the film, but a little bit of "Star Trek" beamed into the proceedings. George Takei, who played Sulu in the original TV series, was there as a guest who just wanted to share in the festivities. Jimmy Krenn entertained at an early VIP reception and auctioned off his cast, recently removed from a broken wrist, that had been signed by Steelers players and other celebrities. Rick Sebak was the main event host of the two-venue event at the ToonSeum and Pierce Gallery on Liberty Avenue in the Cultural District, Downtown.
