The YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh held its 20th annual Racial Justice Awards Dinner Wednesday at the Westin Convention Center. More than 200 came to pay tribute to the nine organizations and individuals being honored. Many mingled during cocktails, congratulating the honorees. Receiving awards were Pittsburgh police officer Diane Richard, public safety; Cecile Springer, community engagement; Frank DiNardo, Youth Achievement; professor of Communications at Robert Morris University Rex Crawley, Education; the Rev. B. De Neice Welch, Faith; U.S. Department of Justice's Knight Sor, government. Organizations being honored were Hip-Hop On L.O.C.K. for Art, New Voices Pittsburgh: Women of Color for Reproductive Justice for Community Engagement and The Pittsburgh Area Jewish Committee for Faith. Leading the applause were YWCA's CEO Magdeline Jensen and director of the Center for Race and Gender Equality Dina Clark.
