McGuire Memorial held its 21st annual Special Auction for Special People at the Westin Convention Center Saturday night. CEO Sister Mary Thaddeus welcomed the more than 380 guests and thanked them for their continued support. "We grossed just under $500,000 which broke the record from last year," said executive director Dennis Sabatini. The evening began with cocktails and a chance to peruse the rows and rows of silent and live auction items before the seated dinner and program. The Giving Tree gave guests a chance to give to individual clients special needs if they would rather not bid on the auction. Premier Transportation from Atlanta, donated two red Camaros for the raffle. CEO Mike Medici was on hand to congratulate one of the winners, Rich Merindo, who was understandably excited when his name was announced.
