Nearly 400 guests attended the Ronald H. Brown Leadership Awards Gala presented by the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh on Friday at the Westin Convention Center. The evening was chaired by Evan Frazier and Alan Trivilino, with Mark Rendulic of First Niagara and Randy Crawford of EQT serving as honorary chairs. WTAE's Andrew Stockey was emcee, and he welcomed guests along with Urban League CEO Esther Bush and board chair Annie Hanna Cestra (with Dennis). Receiving the Corporate Leadership Award were Carnegie-Mellon president Jared Cohon and Doris Carson Williams, president of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania. Tim Stevens, chairman of the Black Political Empowerment Project and a former president of the NAACP, received the special Lifetime Achievement Award. In the crowd were Leon and Ann Haley, Milt and Nancy Washington, Greg and Janet Spencer, Wendall and Janet Freeland, Glenn and Andrea Mahone, Larry Davis, the Rev. Harold and Claudette Lewis, Eric and Cecile Springer and Margaret Washington.
