Once again the great migration across the rivers and through the woods to the annual Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium's Summer Safari Rock With the Animals took place Friday night. This year's theme, "Sea and Be Seen," didn't have the 2,200 guests roaming the grounds in flippers, but it did inspire a couple of divers to enter the shark tank. Making sure everything went swimmingly at this year's mega benefit were veteran chairs Anita and Joe Moran, who mingled in the VIP tent before heading out to join the trek from the Village to the Plaza to the Aquarium and beyond. The party, which features multiple entertainment venues and food and drink stations throughout the grounds, continues to be a favorite summer destination, selling out and raising $200,000. Guests making a splash included chair Bev Elliot with Steve, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, zoo COO Frank Cartieri, the zoo's director of animal health Ginger Tackle, Corina Diehl, Michael Mascaro, Roz Neiman, Dwayne Woodruff, the zoo's Andy Holtz, Regina and Bud Kelly and Isaac Sun with Marissa McKown. The evening ended with the Standard Band in the PNC Pavilion, where some danced and others enjoyed the rockin' zoo atmosphere.
