More than 240 opera lovers crowded the gilded ballroom of the Omni William Penn for the 58th annual Pittsburgh Opera Association Diamond Horseshoe Ball. This year's theme -- Revelry, Romance and Royalty -- raked in $205,000 to support Pittsburgh Opera. Attendees were treated to a divertissement of opera and Broadway by cast members of the season's first opera, "Rigoletto," which opens Saturday. Among those reveling in the romance and royalty were Nicholas and Susan Loutsian, who chaired the event, opera general director Christopher Hahn with Ron Booth, Dr. Loren and Ellen Roth, Virginia DiPucci, Nancy and John Traina (he's on the board of directors, she chairs the Pittsburgh Opera Association), Bill Benter and wife Vivian, in a show-stopping Lela Rose crinoline dress, Dr. Lisa Cibik, Jean Ann Hattler and Eddie Beachler, John and Virginia DiPucci, Rose Kutsenkow, David and Gabriela Porges, who sponsored the dinner, board president Clyde Jones, and board chair Michele Fabrizi, CEO of MARC USA, which sponsored the cocktail hour.
