The excitement surrounding the Constellation Senior Players tournament last week spilled over into the draw party held Tuesday night at the Heinz History Center. Close to 300 guests arrived for cocktails, a buffet dinner and a chance to meet some of the golfers. But the big business of the night was hearing which amateurs would be paired with which pros for the Accenture Championship Pro-Am Competition that was held Wednesday. Participants paid $25,000 a foursome to participate, with some of the proceeds benefiting the First Tee of Pittsburgh golf program for city kids.

Many of the guests were members of the Fox Chapel Golf Club, which hosted the PGA event and provided much of the volunteer effort that staffed it. But many other golfers were there, including a host of local executives and Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. KDKA-TV's Bob Pompeani went from broadcasting a live interview with Tom Watson to announcing the teams. Standing by for the news were folks such as Fox Chapel Golf Club president Art Scully with Debbie, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma, Sy Holzer, Tom Usher, David Malone, John Paul, T.J. and Jen McCrady, brothers Stewart and Elliott Burkland, Bill and Gayle Simpson, Courtney Myhrum, Bryant and Wendy Mitchell and Rob and Christina Cochran, along with Constellation executives Chris Crane and Mayo Shattuck.
