From the paper corsages to the cafeteria food service, the Neighborhood Academy Spring Social brought back memories of a high school dance, only way better. The hamburgers were gourmet, the milkshakes came in flavors such as bacon and pancakes, and there wasn't a wallflower among the 250 or so guests.

American Eagle donated its headquarters for the benefit orchestrated by Thommy Conroy and chaired by Alysia Hoyt Friday at SouthSide Works.

Besides celebrating the seven graduating seniors, the evening marked the 10th anniversary of the independent school, which provides a quality education for bright, low-income youths.

It boasts a 100 percent college acceptance rate and in September will move into its new home in Stanton Heights.
