Jim Rohr, CEO of PNC Financial Services, was crowned king of Mardi Gras on Tuesday during the 13th annual Mardi Gras Gala to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvania. The sold-out affair at the Westin Convention Center Hotel attracted 800 supporters (with another 300 on the waiting list!) for an elegant dinner and dancing to the John Parker Band. Some of the masked guests included outgoing king Murry Gerber, John Surma, Jack Brooks, Jim Broadhurst, Art Rooney II, Hoddy Hanna, Mike Langley, Lou Astorino, Dennis White, county executive Dan Onorato, board chair Lou Testoni and executive director Judy Painter.

Lights! Glamour! Action!

They might come with someone else, but everyone wants to go home with Oscar, at least in Hollywood. Celebrating this golden guy's universal appeal and importance to the film industry last night was the Pittsburgh Film Office. "Lights! Glamour! Action!," the PFO's annual Oscar Night fund-raiser at Heinz Field Club Level East, gave guests the star treatment as they walked the red carpet, enjoyed a live telecast of the Oscars and recorded their favorite movie lines. Among the 600 guests and local celebrities were PFO director Dawn Keezer, county executive Dan Onorato, Philip Pelusi, Melissa Hart, Russell Kemerer with Beth Wainwright, Nancy Mosser and WTAE's Sally Wiggin and Michelle Wright.
