The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust hosted a reception in its education center Wednesday to welcome Arthur Kibbelaar, consul for cultural affairs for the Netherlands, and to kick off the three-month Distinctly Dutch Festival that opens in February. Board members, donors and supporters sampled Dutch fare prepared by Meat & Potatoes as they heard about the contemporary visual and performing arts programs that will be spread throughout the city, including the Cultural District, university campuses and the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild.

Welcoming guests were cultural trust president Kevin McMahon, programming director Paul Organisak, Wood Street Galleries director Murray Horne and Mr. Kibbelaar. He called the festival a bridge to cultural, economic and academic exchanges with Pittsburgh, adding that the Netherlands could learn much from the progress that has been made here. On hand to meet him were Kim O'Dell, Jane Werner, Don Carter, Sally Horsman, Carnegie Museum of Art's architecture curator Ray Ryan, PBT's Harris Ferris, Heather Semple, Richard Parsakian and Marguerite Jarrett Marks.
