It was all aboard for summer fun Friday night during Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's annual Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh summer benefit. "We are celebrating the trust as the vehicle for culture and development Downtown," said Thommy Conroy, the curator of this year's event, adding, "Cosmo draws its themes from travel to create a classic airport, an underground train station, as well as a drive-in theater and open-road astrologers." He designed all three of the spaces used for the party, which included two VIP locations. The idea was for guests to get limited-edition stamps for their passport booklets from the two simultaneous VIP parties and the Gallery Crawl. By 9 p.m. 700 people were wandering the three floors of the old Bally Sports Club. From the photo booth to the tarot card readers to the band on the top floor there was constant locomotion. Moved to a state of joy by the nearly $50,000 raised for the trust were chairs Katherine Leech-Vollen (with Randy) and Doug Kassab (with Kelly). Among the jet-setters were trust president Kevin McMahon, Richard Rauh, Kevin Miller and Sheri Giger Miller, Allison Ruppert, Ken and Pam McCrory, Laura Seifert, Clyde Jones, Catherine Loevner and Bill Chisnell.
