Among the legacies left by the late great Bob O'Connor is the Cookie Cruise, now in its 20th year of patrolling the high seas of the Mon for a worthy cause. His widow, Judy, sons the Rev. Terry O'Connor and Corey O'Connor and daughter Heidy Garth (with husband Rich) have continued the tradition of filling the Gateway Clipper with an eclectic assortment of guests and many politicians (Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, city Councilman Bill Peduto, city Controller Michael Lamb, state Auditor General Jack Wagner, U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle) who find it a great way to mingle. But the table of homemade cookies was the biggest draw for the 900 guests! This year the beneficiary was the American Liver Foundation.
