It was a night of dueling Catholic events as Cardinal Donald Wuerl returned to his hometown for the Bishop Leonard St. Mary of the Mount Academy Angel Fund Dinner Friday at LeMont Restaurant. The school on Mount Washington is Cardinal Wuerl's alma mater, so he was happy to help raise funds for the tuition assistance program.
Cocktails, dinner and dancing to the band Street Level rounded out the evening, which featured both a live and silent auction. Kurt Smallhoover chaired the dinner attended by 120 guests, including St. Mary of the Mount pastor the Rev. Michael Stumpf.
