The scoop on the new Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop at 936 Penn Ave., Downtown, is that it is owned and operated by Life'sWork of Western Pennsylvania. Celebrating the grand opening July 27 were president and CEO Everett McElveen, Tom Link from the mayor's office and board members Jeff Dutkovic and Mark Seeton. For anyone who wanted, cones were $1. The "partnershop" will present a sweet opportunity for youth and adults who have found employment challenging. Life'sWork is a nonprofit that helps individuals find independence through work. This marks 85 years of providing assistance to people with disabilities and other employment obstacles.
