Dining outdoors couldn't have been more beautiful Friday as Fern Hollow Nature Center in Sewickley Heights hosted its first Alfresco Italian Garden Dinner. More than 80 people enjoyed the perfect weather and food donated by farmers from the St. James Farmers Market.
Candles illuminated the 50-foot-long table as diners chatted into the night, sharing homemade cookies, wine by Bruce and Mary Broglie and Chris McClain's limoncello. Making it all possible were event chair Marisa Tobias, Fern Hollow director Sam Capezzuto, naturalist April Claus and Rhonda Schuldt, Molly Fogel, Patti Griest and Mary Menniti of the Italian Garden Project. Proceeds benefit the center's educational programs.
