Nearly 200 guests enjoyed a spectacular sunset and pink champagne from their perch on Mount Washington Thursday. It wasn't the view or the bubbly that got them there, it was The Susan G. Komen for the Cure, A Celebration of the Promise event. After the cocktail reception, Susan G. Komen director Kathy Purcell introduced emcee Michelle Wright from WTAE. The dinner party, live auction and awards presentation were chaired by Liz Sullivan and John Erskine. Agnus Berenato, University of Pittsburgh women's basketball head coach, was honored with the Terri L. Chapman Award, and Rebecca Whitlinger, director of Cancer Caring, received the Community Caring Award. Among those applauding were board president Jeremy Hartzell, Susan Ely, Michael Barfield, Lynda Saxon, Mary Ann Miller, Dr. William Poller, Eric Kulikowski and Patty Ionnotti. Coach Berenato also acted as celebrity auctioneer, getting as much out of the bidders as she does her players.
