AARP's magazine picks Pittsburgh a 'Best Place to Live on $100 a Day'

In the week when the Milken Institute, a California think tank, ranked Pittsburgh 10th on its first "Best Cities for Successful Aging" index, the Steel City got another feather in its cap for being attractive to the graying crowd.
AARP The Magazine named Pittsburgh one of the Ten Best Places to Live on $100 a day. "These cities offer all the ingredients for a rich retirement at a fraction of the cost," the magazine said.
Also on the list were San Antonio, Texas; Omaha, Neb.; Grand Junction, Colo.; Gainesville, Fla.; Spokane, Wash.; Las Cruces, N.M.; Roanoke, Va.; Eau Claire, Wis.; and Morgantown, W.Va.
With a median home price of $106,500 and 194 sunny days, Pittsburgh offers by far the cheapest median home prices from those other great retirement cities on the list, even Morgantown at $168,900.
