Big Pour Week is all about beer

It's Big Pour Week -- the days surrounding Saturday's Steel City Big Pour beer, food, art and creative reuse festival to benefit Construction Junction in Point Breeze. The main event is, as usual, sold out, but there are plenty of ancillary events around town involving some of the same brewers and beer and sensibility as will be flowing at the fest. The Post-Gazette, which is a Pour sponsor, is hosting the Big Pour Week events calendar, and events started coming in hot and heavy at the end of last week.

You still could win a pair of Pour tickets at some events, including tastings tonight at the Bocktown Beer & Grille locations in North Fayette and near Monaca, as well as tonight at Poor Richard's in McCandless.

Or meet a brewer as well as find a cool new venue at a tasting tonight at The Allegheny Wine Mixer Wine Bar & Tap Room in Lawrenceville.

Or stuff yourself with a multi-course beer dinner, such as the one featuring Weyerbacker brews tonight at the Sharp Edge Bistro in Sewickley.

Perhaps the best event: On Sunday morning, Fat Head's in South Side is reprising its breakfast brunch featuring coffee beers and Belgian waffles.

Check it all out at post-gazette.com/food, under Libations.
