Tickets for the Sept. 8 Steel City Big Pour -- the craft beer, food and art festival fundraiser at Construction Junction in Point Breeze -- go on sale at noon on Monday, Aug. 20. Buy them for $75 via ShowClix at www.constructionjunction.org/pages/bigpour.
This sixth-annual event is sure to sell out fast -- last year's sold out in minutes -- but there are ancillary events during Big Pour Week, which runs from Sept. 4 to 10. A few events already have been scheduled:
• Tuesday, Sept. 4: Craft Beer & Wing Night from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring $3 craft beer drafts and $3-a-dozen wings at Coppertops, 2132 E. Carson St., South Side.
The Bocktown Beer & Grills are presenting area craft brewers and owners along with free samplings of their brews from 6 to 8 p.m. on each of three days, and you can register to win a pair of tickets to the Pour. At the Bocktown near Monaca, it's:
• Beaver Brewing, Sept. 4
• Weyerbacher Brewing, Sept. 5
• Troegs Brewery, Sept. 6
At the North Fayette (690 Chauvet Dr.) location, it's:
• Draai Laag Brewing, Sept. 4
• North Country Brewing, Sept. 5
• All Saints Brewing, Sept. 6
Other events are being planned.
Find the Craft Beer Week calendar at post-gazette.com/food. To have your event posted there and on the Big Pour site, send your event proposal to food@post-gazette.com. Events must involve craft beer, but, in the spirit of the main event, also can involve food and music and art and other sustainable fun.
