Beer: One wild beer dinner
Share with others:
As beer dinners go, this sounds like an exceptional one: Downtown's Bigelow Grille and its Chef Anthony Zallo are working with Wild Purveyors to pair four courses with brews from Bell's in Michigan. The event starts at 6 p.m. on Sept. 5. Cost is $55 (plus tax and tip); reserve at 412-281-5014. More at bigelowgrille.com/events_list.
It's one of the new events of Big Pour Week, around Construction Junction's Steel City Big Pour on Sept. 8. It sold out, as expected, this week, but there will be other events Sept. 4 through 10. Check them out, or add your event, at post-gazette.com/food.

Another good beer event: Lebo Brew Fest returns to Mt. Lebanon's Clearview Common from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22. The municipality and Sunrise Rotary sponsor the fest, which benefits the new Mt. Lebanon Veterans Memorial as well as Outreach Teen & Family Services. For a donation of $25 ($30 at the gate), you can sample more than 30 brews, keep your commemorative tasting glass, listen to Uptown Rhythm and Brass, and meet dignitaries such as Rocky Bleier, who in addition to being memorial co-chair, used to play a little football. Food will be available for purchase, as are $10 raffle tickets for prizes including a $7,700 week at a luxury condo in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Event tickets are available at several locations including the municipal offices and mtlebanon.org.
