Get a look at Sewickley chicken coops on tour Sunday

The Italian Garden Project and Fern Hollow Nature Center will hold a tour of chicken coops in the Sewickley area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets for Sewick's Chicks are $10 each (free for children age 10 and under) and are available today at Penguin Bookshop, 420 Beaver St., and Sewickley Confectionery, 600 Beaver St. On Sunday, tickets are available only at Penguin Bookshop. Ticket holders receive a sticker and booklet with addresses and suggested routes. A portion of proceeds will benefit Sewickley Community Center Food Bank.

The Shadyside House Tour featuring six houses and a historic church will be held on Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets are $15 in advance and available at Eureka Chocolates and Gifts, 735 Copeland St.; Blue Box Gift Shop at Shadyside Hospital and Hillman Cancer Center Gift Shop. Also available through PayPal at www.shadysideaction.org or by mail: send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Box 10149, Pittsburgh PA 15232. (Checks must be received no later than Sept. 26.)
Tour day tickets are $20 at the tour's starting point, Winchester Thurston School, 555 Morewood Ave., 15213.
Transportation between the homes will be available. The tour is self guided and the homes can be visited in any order. Sponsored by UPMC Shadyside Hospital, the tour is the only fundraiser for the Shadyside Action Coalition.
