Gifts for TV fans aren't limited to DVD boxed sets. Books inspired by programs have also become a popular way for fans to enjoy their favorites:

PBS' drama import "Call the Midwife" is based on a book by Jennifer Worth about British midwives in the 1950s. Now an official companion for the first two seasons, "Life and Times of Call the Midwife" ($29.99, Harper Design) by series writer Heidi Thomas, has been released.

Warning: Beware of season 2 spoilers!
