Phipps hosts Yoga Festival

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Oakland is hosting a Yoga Festival through Thursday in conjunction with the Tropical Forest Conservatory India exhibit.

Included in admission will be presentations from local instructors on yoga-themed topics from 11 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today and Sunday.

All week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. children can create rangoli, Indian mosaics made by using natural materials like beans and flower petals, to color numerous shapes and forms. Today and Sunday, festival-goers can participate in Indian-inspired food tastings from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to the Tropical Forest India Yoga Festival is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and students, and $11 for children (2 to18). Members and children under 2 enter free. Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Information: phipps.conservatory.org.
