Home & Garden Notes: Chemicals collection; home buying seminar

Household chemical collection will take place on July 14 at the Washington Mall (Toys "R" Us parking lot) in South Strabane from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Common household chemicals such as cleaners, paints, stains, varnishes, batteries, motor oil, pesticides and other products will be collected and safely disposed of.
Cost is $2 per gallon.

A Home Buying Workshop will held at the Landmarks Housing Resource Center, 744 Rebecca Ave., Wilkinsburg, at 6 p.m. July 23.
The workshop, which is free, will cover credit counseling and restoration programs; grant money for closing costs; affordable mortgage and down payment options; and how to get a free credit report and evaluation.
