I'm really liking the new "Super Grains" bagels at Einstein Bros., especially the nine-grain version ($1.20). Made with whole-wheat flour and grains such as quinoa, barley and rye, the bagel fulfills your recommended daily whole-grain requirement, and it's quite tasty, with a nice texture.

There's also a "100% Whole Wheat with Honey" bagel (25 percent of your recommended daily fiber, $1.10) and a "Power Protein" bagel that mixes into the whole-wheat flour dried fruit and sunflower seeds to reach 14 grams of protein ($1.75).

Einstein Bros. has seven area locations.

Also healthfully delicious are the cold-pressed, unfiltered, flash-pasteurized 100-percent juice fruit juices from Red Jacket, an orchard in New York's Finger Lakes region that started in 1958 and now is slickly marketing what it used to do as a matter of course back in the day.

The sell several apple juice blends: Fuji, Raspberry, Strawberry, Cranberry, Grape, Black Currant, a Joe's Summer Blend (with lemon) and a Light Raspberry, as well as two fruit nectars they call "stomps" -- Apricot Stomp and Tart Cherry Stomp. The stomps are particularly good.

My 5-year-old sucked down a bottle of the cherry after a morning skate at the Schenley Park Ice Rink and said appreciatively, "It tastes like it has spices in it."

All this flavor and realness doesn't come cheap: The stomps retail for $3.29 for a 12-ounce plastic bottle and $5.99 for a 32-ounce one; juice blends are $2.49 for 12 ounces and $4.49 for 32 ounces.

But it's nice when the label reads "Tart Cherries, Apples, Vitamin C."

Red Jacket products are available at Whole Foods and Giant Eagle Market District stores and redjacketorchards.com.

I wish they carried them at Einstein Bros. so I could drink one with my nine-grain bagel.
