'dash Around the Table Tour' rolls into Heinz Field

Pittsburgh's Heinz Field will be a stop on the "dash Around the Table Tour" organized by dash, the monthly food magazine from the publishers of Parade.
The Post-Gazette, which carries the magazine, is co-sponsoring the food show. It'll be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, before the Pittsburgh Steelers play their Week 3 exhibition game at Buffalo at 7 p.m.
The celebrity host will be former Steelers running back and broadcaster Jerome Bettis.
The star of the show is Chef Jon Ashton, who does a two-hour, live and interactive cooking show. The Liverpool, England, native is a contributing editor to dash and Parade magazines, as well as food correspondent for the nationally syndicated morning show, The Daily Buzz, and appears he appears frequently on other TV shows.
A graduate of St. Helens College in Great Britain, he worked in several British restaurants and was a hit on British food TV before moving to the U.S. to make a name for himself here, starting with a cable cooking show in Orlando.
On the dash Around the Table Tour, he interacts with the audience during his "Make Mealtimes Matter Show," demonstrating to the audience how to prepare simple, fast and delicious meals every day.
The event also will feature food, beverage and restaurant sampling, tailgating competition, a foodie marketplace, chef showcases, appearances by staffers of the PG's Food & Flavor section, live music and more. You'll go home with lots of ideas and recipes -- as well as a goodie bag of other loot.
Other cities on the tour include Bakersfield, Calif.; Bend, Ore.; Champaign, Ill.; Naples, Fla.; and Wilmington, N.C.
