Look closely, or you might see right past one of the hottest trends in fashion -- translucent accessories.

Designers are making sure that doesn't happen, with creative takes on clear shoes, handbags, sunglasses, belts and jewelry that are popping up throughout the pages of magazines such as Vogue and Lucky.

Stuart Weitzman is channeling Cinderella with a "Clearly Timeless" capsule collection of princess-worthy pumps. Michael Kors is saluting the 1980s with clear-heeled stilettos, while Marc Jacobs and Valentino pair leather with translucence for some see-through satchels that leave little inside to the imagination.

In the spirit of spring, brands such as Furla are adding a tint of color to transparent designs. The trend also is trickling down from high-end showrooms to mainstream stores.

Vintage alert: Now is a good time to get out the jelly shoes!
