Stylebook: Fiber artist to unveil new collection

Rae Gold fall fashion show: At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Pittsburgh-based fiber artist and designer Rae Gold will share new pieces from her line of hand-dyed wool garments. Jackets, scarves, vests, hats and more will be unveiled. The show will be at the Society for Contemporary Craft, 2100 Smallman St., Strip District. Trunk shows at Larrimor's: Women can get their wardrobe ready for fall with modern, well-made leathers, knitwear, separates and more from Lafayette 148 New York. Shop the collection Thursday through Saturday at Larrimor's at The Galleria in Mt. Lebanon.

For men, American-made footwear by Allen Edmonds and hosiery by VK Nagrani will be featured Thursday and Friday at One PNC Plaza, Downtown, and Saturday and Sunday at The Galleria. Men also can browse apparel by Eton on Thursday at the Downtown location.

Ninth annual Pittsburgh Fashion Story: Approximately 350 guests are expected to turn out at 7 p.m. Friday at J. Verno Studio, South Side, to preview fall trends from e.b. Pepper, hip'tique, Jupe Boutique, MODA, Panello, The Garage at Charles Spiegel and Roberta Weissburg. The night also will feature appearances by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre dancers.

VIP tickets are $125 in advance; general admission is $75 in advance and $85 at the door. Proceeds will benefit Partners for Quality Foundation, which supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and children with behavioral health challenges. American Girl model search: The Junior League of Pittsburgh is seeking girls size 6x or 10 to model looks inspired by clothes from American Girl's historical and "Just Like You" contemporary doll collections and Bitty Baby line at its annual fashion show Nov. 17-18 at the Pittsburgh Field Club.

Those interested should complete an application at www.jlpgh.org and bring it to the search at the Sycamore room, second floor of the Greentree Library, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Girls not selected to participate in the show may be asked to be guest models during intermission.
