The Me-Ality body scanning booth at The Mall at Robinson started in June by offering advice on pants selections. Now its calibrations can give help on sweaters, tops, dresses, etc.

If you've been to The Mall at Robinson, Westmoreland Mall or Monroeville Mall lately, you might have passed the Me-Ality body scanning kiosk, which promises to eliminate the frustrations of finding pants that fit by doing the guesswork for shoppers.
Now the device also can help find sweaters, tops, lingerie, dresses and more. The so-called "fitting room of the future" emits safe, low-power radio waves and collects data from hundreds of thousands of points on the body to gauge a person's proportions. Within minutes, pages of suggestions are printed with descriptions of clothes and where to find them. It's free and takes only a few minutes for the entire process.

Marshalls coming to Washington Crown Center: If all goes as planned, shoppers in Washington County could have a new place to pick up shoes, handbags, home selections and brand-new clothes for kids, men and women next holiday season. Marshalls, known for its inventory of designer labels at discount prices, is expected to move into a 25,000-square-foot space at the Washington Crown Center by late 2013. It will be located next to Sears and across from f.y.e. and Veltri Fitness.

Coach considering makeover with shoes, apparel: Watch out, Tory Burch and Michael Kors, Coach is branching out. After more than 60 years focusing on handbags and accessories, the label is considering expanding its offerings with more focus on shoes and possibly ready-to-wear apparel. The goal: to join the ranks of Burch and Kors, according to Women's Wear Daily.
"Instead of designing accessories to fill a need, we're thinking more about the woman, who she is, where she goes, what is her life like," executive creative director Reed Krakoff told the media. "Now when you think of Coach, you will think of a woman or a man and you think of their lifestyle."
Victoria's Secret pledges to go toxic-free: A recent Greenpeace investigation identified the lingerie manufacturer as a detox "laggard" or "villain" when it comes to ridding its supply chain of potentially hazardous chemicals. In response, Victoria's Secret is joining other retail chains and brands by committing to a toxic-free production line. New fashion ventures for Kate Hudson, Nanette Lepore: Another week, another celebrity-turned-designer. This time, actress Kate Hudson has teamed up with Ann Taylor for a red carpet-inspired capsule collection. Ms. Hudson also has been the face of the retailer's ad campaigns. Look for the clothing line this spring.
Meanwhile, New York-based designer Nanette Lepore is branching out with clothes for juniors. The L'Amour collection is rich with bright colors and fresh bold prints inspired by Ms. Lepore's teen daughter Violet. The line runs less than $50 at J.C. Penney.
