How things change. On Wednesday, Misaki opened in the Brookline space that had been home to Amici Ristorante from 2006-09 and, prior to that, the storied Louis Tambellini's, which moved there from Mount Washington in 1981.

The prominent location had been purchased by Ed Dunlap in 2006, the proprietor of LeMont on Mount Washington.

Jason Yu of Yamato Hibachi Grill in Penn Center East, Wilkins, and Old Town Buffet in Pleasant Hills is the restaurateur who has opened the 300-seat space with a vast banquet room for 350. Although a sit-down menu is an option, patrons are directed to a 100-item buffet, which includes sushi, hibachi-cooked items, and pizza from a wood-burning oven.

Sunday marks the restaurant's first brunch, a $15.95 buffet that includes omelets and American breakfast items as well as pan-Asian fare. For details: misakiexperience.com or 412-481-1118.
