Elements restaurant closed Monday after two years in Gateway Center, Downtown.

"We just couldn't afford to keep it open," said owner David Greenberg of his eatery serving seasonally inspired, locally sourced food.

He said he was not looking at opening another restaurant.

"What we did didn't resonate with the demographics of Downtown," he said. "We gave it our best shot."

Elements opened in August 2010, succeeding Palomino.
